Why I became a massage therapist?

Many, many moons ago I thought about becoming a massage therapist but I only let it be a thought. Whilst studying naturopathy one of my subjects was Massage Therapy and I loved it. I loved being able to bring peace and relaxation to other people as well as knowing that I was healing them on a physical, emotional and spiritual level.
Whilst I started practicing on family and friends, it was only whilst undertaking a soul journey course that I stepped out of my comfort zone and started advertising. This was a huge step and the fear-based thoughts came racing in. What if I am crap? What if no-one likes my massage? What if I don't get any clients? What if I spend all this money and I fail? What if...what if....what if.... But I worked through the what if's, and am still working through some new ones!! to get to the point I am now. I have a beautiful studio, I have a few clients each week and I now feel confident in calling myself a massage therapist and business owner :)
My business is still undergoing constant changes as I reflect on each days events and I am now focusing on holistic health for women and children. I have always loved working with children, hence my teaching degree. But in quite polar opposites to teaching, I now get to nurture each child individually, spending time one-on-one. The kids I have massaged so far have loved their time on the table and can't wait to come back!
In my massage treatments I always combine energy healing, I work with the Angels and use essential oils and flower essences. I focus on healing the whole person not just the sore muscle someone may have. It is my belief that massage is not just for when you have a sore muscle, it is for anyday, anytime and for any reason or no reason at all! The best reason is self-love and when I ask someone why they have come and they aren't sure how to answer that question, then we write self-love, the most important reason xx
