You think I would have learned my lesson by now but no, I spend my time looking after everyone else and then I get stressed and run down and bam, a virus takes hold....and it was a shitty one.
After a week of headaches, light-headedness and nausea it was time to tackle it head on. I had begun taking Olive leaf extract and a homeopathic remedy for the immune system but I needed more. Because I was not hungry I struggled to get anything nutritious into my body. So yesterday I decided I needed a bowl full of bug fighting essentials!!
Raw garlic is amazing as an immune booster and to fight bugs but I could not stomach it so I added nearly a whole bulb to a pot of soup!! And today I am feeling better. I am not cured but my body needed fuel to help fight the bugs and I wasn't giving it any.
Below you will find my amazingly tasty and nutritious Spicy sweet potato soup recipe. I never measure, I just throw in whatever I have and whatever amount I think is necessary at the time. This means that you can adjust it to your own taste. If you like extra spice, add more black pepper and chilli. If you like less, add less, but don't leave them out as they work symbiotically to help your body fight the bugs :)
