Do you suffer from anxiety or insomnia?
Have you tried chamomile tea and don't like the taste?
Chamomile flowers have a mild sedative action to help with anxiety, insomnia and restlessness. They are also useful for colic, flatulence, irritable bowel and food sensitivities. I remember as a teenager feeling sick in the stomach at a friends house and her Mum made me a chamomile tea that I politely had to drink!! The floral taste was too much for me however my irritable belly went away.
Today I don't mind the taste of chamomile tea however I recently learnt of using nut milk to make a latte, rather than the traditional water blend. I have experimented with it and have come up with this delicious recipe that I would love to share with you all!!

1-2 teaspoons of dried chamomile flowers (you can substitute for tea bags)
1 cup of your favourite nut milk
Rice malt syrup to taste
Cinnamon stick or powder to taste
In a small saucepan simmer milk, chamomile flowers and cinnamon stick for 3-5 minutes. Keep an eye on it stirring to prevent sticking.
Pour into cup and add rice malt syrup to taste. (If you have a milk frother you could use it to make an even creamier latte)
Thermomix recipe
200g milk
1-2 tspns chamomile flowers
Cinnamon stick to taste
Rice malt syrup to taste
Place milk, chamomile flowers and cinnamon stick in Thermomix - 4 minutes, temp 70, speed 1.
Strain into a bowl or cup, rinse Thermomix bowl and transfer milk back - 30 seconds, speed 8.
Pour into cup and add rice malt syrup. Sprinkle with cinnamon to serve.
You can add lavender and hops for extra benefits.
Lavender - Anxiolytic
Hops - Hypnotic and mild sedative.
